Early Activism & Community Engagement:

FightWithFood.org (2008–2014): This non-profit initiative aimed at addressing hunger through communal efforts such as food drives, cooking competitions, and cooperative gardening. It promoted a “compete to eat” model and utilized music, art, and activism to galvanize communities. According to Lyman, the organization received Denver Westword’s “Best Activism Website” award in 2010, marking a significant early recognition of his organizing talents.

Occupy Denver & the Thunderdome (2012-Current): Lyman has played a notable role in Occupy Denver as an organizer. He was affiliated with a splinter space called the Thunderdome, which provided direct services such as meals and support tents during the Occupy protests. This experience has been formative for his belief in decentralization, public service, and mutual aid.

Cannabis Certification:

In 2022, Lyman became the first graduate from the University of Denver’s Cannabis Certification Program. His studies covered cannabis business operations, plant medicine pharmacology, and cultivation science. Lyman cited his personal use of plant medicine as inspiration, particularly for recovery and resilience, and has continued advocating for access to natural remedies through his public talks and policy positions.

Psilocybin Support Innovation:

Lyman Support Centers, LLC, created a harm-reduction-based framework for those seeking psilocybin therapy post-Colorado Proposition 122. The model avoids sales by charging for support sessions and education, while mushrooms are gifted. Services include integration support, safety protocols (like carbon capsules and trip-sitting), music, emotional guidance, and testing kits. Media outlets like Denver7, Westword, Axios, and Shroomtown have covered these innovative practices, which often exist in a legal grey zone but emphasize health and spiritual care.

Through a growing ambassador network across over eight Colorado counties, local support is facilitated by trained guides operating as LLCs. Each ambassador offers tailored sessions that often include pre-consultation, preparation advice, live session support, and post-session integration therapy or coaching.

Social-Crypto Integration:

The COG Token (City of Gold) was launched on Binance Smart Chain in 2022 by H4U Co., founded by Lyman. Its goal was to create a socially equitable token economy where every transaction could fund public good. The tokenomics allocated a portion of every transaction—5% to holders, 8% to housing initiatives, 2% burn—for systemic homelessness relief. Proceeds were to be distributed among Denver nonprofits and city programs. This crypto-social integration followed a larger pattern in Lyman’s work: marrying financial technology with activism. This led to the blockchain patent #63/314,246.

Blockchain Patent #63/314,246:

Lyman’s provisional patent, filed in February 2022, proposed a decentralized system for automating municipal, state, and federal taxes directly at the point of digital transaction using smart contracts. The patent includes flowcharts showing split-fee routing across jurisdictions. Payroll and employee taxation are also automated, reducing administrative lag. This real-time tax logic could be embedded in stablecoins and DAOs, enabling both transparency and efficiency. While still provisional, this invention could align well with federal legislation such as the RFIA and Payment Stablecoin Act.

Legal & Policy Context:

Following the passage of Colorado's Proposition 122, Lyman’s work with gifted psilocybin remains legal under state law for personal use. Future licensing under DORA will establish formal regulatory pathways. Lyman’s model has remained within legal bounds by focusing on education, integration, and wellness support. At the federal level, RFIA and the Payment Stablecoin Act propose frameworks for smart tokens, DAOs, and programmable finance—areas where Lyman’s tax patent may have early-mover advantage. He has also supported local and state-level pilots, proposing real-time tax trials using USD stablecoins and blockchain rails.
